A "Sun Dog" (I'm sure there is a technical name, but I like this one!) occurs when sun light passes through ice crystals in the atmosphere creating this beautiful reflection. Can happen throughout the year, but more commonly in the winter months when the sun sits closer to the horizon. This was taken from outside of my house :o)
