The Most Wonderful Time of Year!

I finally got my decorations up!  Including my very sad looking tree.  I hate that it's a fake one ( I miss the fresh pine scent and candles are nice, but just not cutting it).  My honey forced me to get a real one when we moved in together.  Said the cats would eat a real one and get sick...pshhh, yeah right!  Sadly, he was right.  All they do is gnaw on the ends of the branches.  The bottom of the tree is almost bare, mostly from them swatting at the ornaments.  So here is my tree!  We added more lights to cover the naked spots where the kitties sat on and bent branches beyond repair.  Also, introducing our furry children!

I Don't Wanna!

So after filling up on an amazing Thanksgiving feast, I am trying to talk myself back onto the "workout wagon."  I just feel so un motivated.  It's been about a month since I've done anything other than a short walk here or there.  Now that the weather has gotten chilly I can not force myself to take a stroll around the block.  I keep trying to picture my wedding day (just a few days shy of 6 months away) and how I'd like to look...you'd think that would be enough to get me going!

Today I went to good ole Amazon.com to read some reviews on excersize DVD's.  After a little research I chose Pure Barre.  Never heard of it, but it's supposed to be low impact, but super effective at burning fat and shaping a "dancer-like" body.  The last thing I want is to look like a beefcake body builder, so I think this fits the bill!  I'll put my Firm DVD's on the back burner, as I am so completely bored with them...they work, but I have a short attention span.

Now, how am I going to stay out of the bakery isle of the super market for the next 6 months?  Damn you Sweet Tooth!

Oh, To Be a Squirrel

One of the many things that my dear fiance and I have in common is our love of squirrels.  Come on, you've heard stranger!  People try to turn these cute puffy-tailed critters into villans for "stealing" seed from those "poor" little birds.  Do you really think those birds are only stopping at your house?  I think not.  I do love bird watching, I really do, but I can't stand to see when home owners try to "squirrel proof" their feeders.  Didn't your mother every tell you to share with everyone!

Anyhoodle, in honor of my little friends, DF and I had ourselves a crafting day!  I'm not going to lie, I stole *ahem* borrowed this idea from someone else.  But I will only use them as gifts and have no intentions at all to sell them.

I now present:  FELTED ACORNS!

DF's job was to drill holes in the acorn caps and thread them with ribbons.  (I had to tie the knots because my honey has Vienna Sauage fingers, hehe)

All the balls were matched up with a "hat"

I glued the hats on then added some snowy glitter and viola!

How cute are these?!  The next time you're enjoying a handful of peanuts, toss some in the direction of a squirrel, I'm sure they will appreciate it!

Where Have You Been??

Sweet, sweet Christmas Tree Shoppe!!!

One just opened up near my home and I'm loving it!!  Unfortunately, so do a lot of other folks, apparently.  It was hard to look around at everything with the giant crowd inside, but believe me I'll be back when it's a little quieter during the day.  I did manage to pick up some Play-doh for my niece and nephew for Christmas.  Woohoo!  I'm looking forward to future field trips!

On a wedding note, I picked up another cookie jar for centerpieces!  It's a duplicate of one that I already have, but I think that is where my jar hunt is headed to.  It's OK, tho.  I'll just have the coordinator put them at opposite ends of the room.  Here are the ones I have so far:

Really, Migrane?

Did you have to ruin my morning?

I don't know if anyone else suffers from these, but it's awful.  For me, it's mostly a "monthly" thing, but I do get them at other times too.  And they are always an inconvenience.  Not having insurance doesn't help, but thankfully (I guess) my mom also needs the Imitrex so she happily shares with me.  I know how bad that might sound to some people, but I assure you, when I was insured, I was prescribed the same exact dose.

So I have been patiently counting down my wedding date...not only (but MOST importantly) to spend the rest of my life with my best friend as man and wife, but to finally be able to go to the Doctor regularly and not need to raid my mothers medicine cabinet every time my head feels like it's going to explode.

Accessory Heaven!

Ah, the perfect accent to any outfit.  In this case the outfit happens to be my wedding gown!  And this is where my other lover, Etsy.com, enters the picture.  I have gotten most of my wedding accoutraments from the talented artists and craftsmen located in that one place (my love affair with Etsy doesn't just stop at wedding goodies, but I'll save that for later entries).  So I would like to use today's post to show off some of the terrific finds for my big day!

Flowers from Etsy Seller BeadFloraJewels:

Fen was so great to work with.  She also made my bridesmaids bouquets and accent leaves for the boutonierre's that I will be making myself.  She sent me lots of progress pictures along the way.  Check out her hair pieces and jewlery too!

Earrings from Etsy Seller WiredVintage:

Beth makes super feminine jewlery using vintage buttons.  I could buy one of everything in her shop!

Hair piece from Etsy Seller minelolly:

I'm really excited about this piece.  It matches my dress almost exactly!  Also picked up a pretty black satin flower for my lovely Matron of Honor (my twin sister)!

Bracelet from Etsy Seller AMIdesigns:

Alison made this custom creation for me.  I loved her lime green bubble bracelet, but I had her add ivory pearls and crystals.  I'm also going to get a similar style bracelet for my bridesmaids.

And this is not clothing related, but it is for my wedding...my Kick Ass Cake Topper by Etsy seller fliepsiebieps!!!

What's not to love about these sweet squirrels?!  My fiance and I couldn't resist!!

Don't be afraid to convo a seller and ask for something you don't see.  I was shy at first, but hey, what's the worst a seller will say?  "No."  Each seller offers something different, unique, personalized.  So support the artists, and accessorize YOUR perfect outfit until the cows come home!

Phew!

Talk about a sigh of relief!  It took me just about all afternoon to figure out how to customize my new blog.  I'm so glad that it's finally finished and that I will have a place to scribble my thoughts!  I'm looking forward to sharing my daily adventures with, well, anyone willing to read about them!  :o)
